Age Limits:

No minimum age limit. But we require our customers have a licence for at least 2 years.

Driver's Licence:
A valid driving licence held for at least one year is required.
Driving licences issued in any country-member of the European Union are acceptable.
Driving licences issued in countries not members of the European Union have to be accompanied by a valid International Driver’s Permit (IDP).
*Arivaroauto withhelds the right to cancel a car rental booking if no or not the appropriate driving license(s) is/are shown on the first day of rental without being liable for any kind of compensation to the renter.

Deposit:
 For safety reasons, the main driver (or any additional driver stated on the rental contract) might be asked to present a valid credid card (Visa or Mastercard).

Insurance:
Rates include the following covers:
For death or injury to third parties up to 1.220.000 euro.

For material damage to third parties up to 1.220.000 euro

C.D.W (Collision Damage Waver): the renter is responsible for the damage to his car from 400 euro up to a maximum of 1000 euro depending on the group.These terms apply provided the damage is not due to violations of the Greek Traffic Law.

Tyre Insurance: Punctured or unrepaired tyres will be replaced free of charge on all vehicles. (the tyre insurance does not apply if the vehicle is driven with a flat tyre).

F. C. D. W. (Full Collision Damage Waver ): this extra insurance eliminates the excess mentioned in the paragraph above. This is provided at an extra cost of 10 euro per day for all groups and 20 euro for the mini buses applies only if there has not been a violation of the Greek Traffic Law.

*''Arivaro auto'' does not provide a full insurance waiver with a zero excess for any of its rental cars.

The insurance provided is not valid and the renter is responisble for all the amount of damages caused when:
The renter is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The rental car is driven on non-paved roads (4X4 vehicles are excluded).
The rental car is driven with a flat tyre.
The renter participates in extemporary car races or drives recklessly.
The renter violates the Greek traffic law.
The renter uses fuel different to the one recommended by the manufacturer of the rental car.
The rental car is driven by a non authorized person (not stated on the rental contract).
The renter does not return the rental car on the date and time stated on the car hire contract.

Additional Explanations:
All insurances are valid only on the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca.
All traffic fines are paid for by the renter.
Damages to the tyres of the rental vehicle are paid for by the renter.
Damaged or loss of car key is paid for by the renter.
The fuel is paid for by the renter.
Excessive dirt (sand or stains from suncream or salt water in the interior of the rental car) or damages to the interior of the rental car are due to be paid for by the renter.
Bookings are made by car category and not by car type/model.

Fuel:
The Renter is obliged to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had when collected. In case of returning the vehicle with less fuel, the renter will be charged with the fuel difference. No refunds are issued for vehicles returned with more fuel than when collected.

Additional driver charge:
Free.

Payment methods:
Both cash and credit cards are accepted. The estimated total cost of the car hire is payable at the beggining of the rental.

Car interior

If the vehicle is returned with stains requiring biological cleaning (e.g. hair, sand, etc. on the seats or on the floor, in the trunk etc.), the lessee is charged with the amount of 100 €. In case of damage caused by the lessee (e.g. burns) there shall be a corresponding charge depending on the damage.

Boat transport

In the case of rental between islands, the lessees are required to return the vehicle to the pickup branch, otherwise all the transport costs shall be charged to them. In case of mechanical damage or accident, lessees are obliged to transfer the car at their own expense. During the transport of the car by boat, the insurance cover does not apply.

Accident file costs

Lessees are charged € 20 in case of an accident of their fault. This amount is not refundable.

Infringement management costs

Lessees shall be responsible for the payment of fines that may result from RTC violations during the rental of the car. If they are not paid by the lessee and an intervention of Ionian cars s required for their payment, there will be a charge of € 50 over the cost of the violation (Infringement Costs).

Plate removal

In the event of plates being removed during the rental period, lessees shall be charged for rental until the collection of the plates from the competent authority.

Loss or destruction of a key

In case of loss or destruction of a key during the rental period, lessees shall have to pay the amount of 80 €.

Baby booster seats:
Free charge!
Three types of baby/booster seats are available for children between ten months and three years. Due to responsibility issues, baby/booster seats have to be fitted in the rental car by the renter.

Taxes:
All rates include 24% V.A.T. and local taxes.

Mileage restrictions:
There are no mileage restrictions.



Delivery /Collection
Free delivery and collection at the airport and in radius of 15 km. (Argostoli, Lassi, Lourdas, Karavados, Pessada port & more)

Reservations/cancelations/availability:

No deposit is required for booking a car. An email will be sent to you after you decide to make a reservation. Arivaro auto  has the right to change the car model to an equivalent or to an upgraded model in case the selected model is not available. No credit card is required for bookings. There is no charge in case of cancelation a week prior of your arrival.

The abovementioned prices include VAT at 24%
The above rates do not include Airport Tax (ASC) if picked up by an Airport.
All fines and administrative penalties are charged to the lessee.
Prices and terms of rental can be changed without notice.
The Greek Courts are competent to resolve any disputes arising herefrom.

Driver's licence will be needed upon delivery. Passport & credit card may also be requested.

All the above should bear the driver's name. For non E.U. citizens I.D.L (International driving licence) will be needed.
